As the temperature begins to drop people running diesel engines need to think about switching over to No. 1 fuel.
Commonly run No. 2 fuel is prone to “waxing” or “gelling” at temperatures lower than 0 degrees F. With a No. 1 fuel you can go as low as -30 degrees F, after that even No. 1 will need additives to help prevent gelling.
If the fuel has already gelled, there is an additive that will cut the fuel.
